Silly Questions ... ranting post bear with me.

This is going to be sort of a ranting post.  The wife and I are completely confused by the questions people throw at us.  Here is a short list:
- "Were you surprised?"  Come on are you serious... how and why would you plan this... yeah yeah I know about the not so well, mentally, octomom (Not a big fan of her).
- "At least its not eight."  Um yeah... good call.
- "Do you ever watch Jon and Kate Plus 8?"  Does it really matter... they have eight kids, thats a completely different league from where we are.
- "How do you tell them apart?"  Usually by looking at them... I mean come on we see them all day everyday.  We have nothing better to do than learn their every feature and characteristic.
- "Two boys and a girl?" or "Two girls and a boy?"  Its like those are they only options... people need to figure out more unique ice breakers... we may be unique in this but we never get the comment "Oh, all girls?" (In public they are usually dressed in all pink or at least have a pink blanket on.)
- "Oh, thats too bad." or "Lucky you."  (Directed at me when we tell them they are all girls)  Come on lots of people have daughters and they survived...
-  "Uh Oh triple threat"  Nope wrong yet again... triple the fun, triple the love, triple the blessing...
- "Is it hard?"  Ummm last I checked people have a hard time raising any number of kids... I am sure it wasn't a cake walk for you with your kids... multiple parents tend to adapt and so far it seems they are more laid back with their kids.  Every doctor visit we have had (which has been a ton) we get the same compliment about being laid back and calm from everyone at the office... now that is refreshing.
- "Are they all yours?"  Nope, found that one in the park and that one at the zoo... come on silly people.
- "Are they twins?"  Uhhh where is "The Count" (from Sesame Street) when you need him.
- "When did you find out they were triplets?"  Really... come on... does it matter... probably the same place everyone finds out about their babies, the doctors office.
-
This wasn't directed at anybody or anything... if you are one who has said one of these things don't fret I only posted the ones that we hear most often (meaning more than 4 times).  So you weren't the only one who didn't think before they spoke... just kidding.  We do understand that multiples are a VERY unique sighting but we are just like everyone else with a baby... just times three.  We know they attract attention and they are cute little gas bombs so take them at that.  Cute individual babies... born at the same time.  I feel better now...
-
The wife and I have joked about getting some shirts made... just to clear the air with anyone we come in contact with.  This is sort of what it would say...

1.  Yes IVF
2.  Yes triplets
3.  Yes 3 Girls
4.  Yes we can tell them apart.
5.  Yes surprised I guess.
6.  Yes they are cute.
7.  No you can't touch them.

Sorry no pictures tonight... I should post some more soon.  Thank you for listening to my ranting... Until next time...BYE

Public...we have bridged the gap.

We have had a VERY busy last few days.
-
We have officially bridged the gap into the real world. Yesterday we made our first excursion out into the "real" world with the three girls. We took a trip to Walmart and shopped. We actually had a decent time. It didn't add any time to our normal grocery shopping trips. We only had two comments from people, that we actually hear. We did get a lot of people tripping over themselves and people running into stuff...it kept us entertained for sure. Megan took Phoenix and I took Rogue and Jade in my cart...one in the main basket and one up by the handle. It took us about 1 hour 30 Minutes and everything went VERY smooth. It took us a total of three carts once we made our way out to the van.
-
Once we arrived home we had two ladies from our church stop by to see the girls and pray for us and them. Then that evening my in laws stopped by to attempt to get some pictures of the girls...it is hard to get all three girls to be happy all at the same time. Once they left it was about 5:30pm. So from about 9:30am we were busy running around or having people over....definitely and exhausting day.
-
Today was pretty laid back day...Megan got to take a nap after the 8am feeding...her previous two feedings were pretty rough. She was baptised by Phoenix at the 8pm and the 4am feedings. So she needed the nap.
-
Today we did get the opportunity for the five of us to head up to Wisconsin to visit with my Great Aunt and Great Uncle. They live in an assisted living facility up there and they were very happy to see the girls. My mom went along with us too make it easier to move around with all three girls.
-

Looks like someone is tired...

I was holding the pacifier in my mouth and she began to huff so I gave it to her...

Cute Smells...I think.

I may be a bit biased but my girls are the cutest in the entire world, there is one thing I can't seem to figure out...how does that kind of smell come out of something so cute. They coo they smile and they have all these cute facial expression then all of a sudden you get this smack in the face and you think you might wretch. Its like they know what they just did...because they immediately look at you and smile with this devious smile.
-
Today we had a Doctors appointment and everything is looking GREAT. Rogue and Phoenix have now made it onto the growth chart...they are marked at the 5% spot for weight and height. With their adjusted age (1 month) they are in the 55% for weight and height. Jade isn't giving up and is quickly catching up to her sisters....here is the breakdown.
-

Rogue: 9lbs 6oz / 21 inch
Jade: 8lbs 9oz / 21 1/2 inch
Phoenix: 9lbs 5oz / 21 1/2 inch
-
One funny thing happened during our appointment, when our doctor ran off to get her camera during our visit. Jade was showing off her new "trick" that I have been working on with her. Jade was the last one so I sat her on the edge of the exam table and she dangled her legs off the edge and sat up straight just looking around with ease. She looked just like a little person...our doctor thought it was so cute and ran off to grab her camera and took a picture of her. The doctor was VERY impressed with how much control and strength she had...our little lady is coming along.
-
Quick side note....Uncle Nate was finally baptised (puked on) by Phoenix. Yeah he wasn't very excited about it at all...all he could say is "This is GROSS". Yes it is....especially since it was formula. All my sister and I could do was laugh...yes he is a good sport and once he was cleaned up he too laughed about it...and no he didn't finish the feeding...he was still a little grossed out...understandable.
-
Rogue with a silly smile.

Rogue looking around...

Rogue looking very wise with her hands crossed...she sat this way on her own after a meal today.

A really ticked off Phoenix...very rare look for her...she is the most laid back.

They coo They poo thats all they do...

The gift that keeps on giving...Cooing...it puts a smile on our faces every time we hear it. Usually we don't even know who did it...we hear it from across the room. Fun times...
-
BIG NEWS they now sleep at night....errr sort of. They go to bed between 10-11pm and usually they wake up around 3-4am. Every little step is a BIG step in our eyes. The silence is sort of deafening since we haven't had it for months.
-
This weekend will be a VERY long and interesting one for sure...I will be alone until Sunday. My sister is coming in on Sunday and stay the night but I am on my own till then...not worried about the girls...I am just worried I may not come out in one piece. There's only one way to find out...dive in head first. Well enjoy the new pics...

"Laser Pointers" the toy that keeps on giving....

Let me start this off by saying I will be highlighting someone else's kid in this blog. Tonight we had some of our friends come over and they brought their 2 year old son along. We don't have too many toys for 2 year old boys so we had to make due with what we had...so I thought, hey how about Daisy's laser pointer (our dog LOVES it). We were laughing so hard...Caleb seemed to enjoy every minute of it...of course until he got bored...here is a video...Enjoy.

Caleb enjoying the red dot...the vid is long but in my opinion very funny.

Until next time...BYE.

Happy Birthday To Me....

Well today is my first birthday as a father. Sadly I dont feel any different...oh well maybe someday. I did get the video game I wanted...now I have something to do in all my free time...Ha.
-
Well there hasn't been a whole lot going on in our lives lately. The girls have now begun to coo...it makes for some very funny awake times. We do go for walks as often as possible, weather permitted. The looks are still coming from people but hey we are getting use to it.
-
When they poop they TRUELY poop. It seems to happen once every 2-4 days so when it happens they make sure you know it. Today on our walk 2 of them decided to poop once we were the furthest from the house. Oh, the joy...if the crying babies weren't enough we were down wind the whole way back home. We need to remember to bring diapers with us on walks. After that walk home changing them in the grass sounds pretty good to me.
-
I know I talk alot about their poop...but hey babies eat, sleep, and poop...not a whole lot too them. Well now for the pictures....Enjoy.
-
Bugs all over our screen...I believe they are June Bugs...Diablo loves to play with them on the back deck.

This is how we sit all day long during awake time. Jade, Rogue, and Phoenix...Nix was a little cheesed off...she was still hungry.

Little content Jade after dinner.

Little playful Rogue giggling and cooing.

Ticked off Phoenix.

The Lineup.

I think we might have to start buckling them in or we will find them laying on the floor.

STORAGE always needed.

"Storage is the never ending battle."

Once we found out we were having triplets we began to stock pile as much baby stuff as we could get our hands on...little did we know how quickly it begins to overtake your life and domicile. Soon, our once large basement became a VERY large storage room. It became clear that storage was needed sooner than later. We had a friend/carpenter come in and build a storage room for us. It is now finally completed and have already stocked it completely full. We made part of it a pantry and another spot for my obsession of movies.
-
Here is all the baby clothes and diapers we have on reserve.

Our new pantry...

and my movie spot. (Sadly I need more room...still have a TON more to find a location for)
-
"Life is a whirlwind."

Well this week has been sort of a laid back week with very limited visitors. Its been kind of nice to just sit back and relax. I was also able to get some stuff done around the house and Megan was able to spend a lot of quality baby time. I was able to trench out drainage for my down spouts and I also set up shelves in the pantry. Life has been slow moving...in the regard to getting actual house work done. The yard is in a shambles...the spots I missed while doing my night time mowing are now knee high...the weeds are beginning to eat away at the true life of my lawn...the dead spots with no grass seem to be getting bigger. So I guess what I am saying is I need to spend a day outside showing my yard some tender love and care. We do have one success story in regards to the yard...we have landscaping...my mom and mother in law bought some bushes to put around the front of the house and they are all officially in the ground and it is looking good. 2 years after we bought this house and we finally have landscaping...
-
"Feeding Frenzy"
One big accomplishment we have made with the girls...is they now sleep in their beds and they now have the ability to skip the midnight feeding (most nights). So on top of this new accomplishment they still have their normal routine which is eat, sleep, and decimate diapers. We still have our little surprises...like four back to back to back to back diapers filled with smelly wonder before you can even put it on the next diaper. We occasionally get baptised (puked on) by our wonderful little lady, Phoenix. Jade still gives us a run for our money with her screams during feedings due to reflux. Don't worry Rogue has her quirks...she takes three times as long to feed when compared to the others. So meals are a constant battle...almost every meal is a lottery on who will take the prize of "Most Difficult". Can't wait till they can hold their own bottle...
-
"SAHD Struggles"
Adjusting to the new daily struggles of parenthood has been a long process especially one where I am the primary care giver of the girls. Being a stay at home dad is a very lonely spot. When asked what I do it is hard to explain to people that I stay home and take care of my girls. For some reason they don't understand how the man of the house can, in their opinion, not be the primary financial draw in the household. In one situation I was asked what my job was and when I told her I stayed at home with my girls she said "No, what is your real job." Not exactly the response I was prepared for and she never did understand what it is that I do. I know this whole Stay at home dad (SAHD) thing is sort of a unique circumstance. The way I look at it is that why and how would we have it any other way...triplets = unique...SAHD = unique...seems to go together. Why do things the normal route when the cards we were dealt are anything but normal. Sorry, I just needed to get that off my chest...
-
"Updates"
Some updates about the girls weights...they are all now over 8 lbs each...we haven't gotten any official weights yet...but we will with our next doctors appointment. Thankfully we haven't had to run out into public to much with all of the girls. The only time the four of us leave is when we go for walks...yes people still point and stare but we are getting over it (I still point back). We are now the local freak show in our neighborhood. Well enough talking from me...time to get to the reason you came, the PICTURES of the girls.

VISITORS

We have now begun to have visitors (Flu season is over, well except H1N1). Seeing as how the girls won't be leaving the house too often people have begun to filter into our house and visit the girls. If you are interested in coming to hold a baby or help out with something...just give us a call or drop us an email (We check it once a day at least). A little heads up will help us prepare to have visitors. Again we ask that if you or someone in your house is sick than please don't visit the girls...they are still very susceptible to sicknesses. We hope to see you all sometime...

P.S. People have been asking us if we need anything...surprisingly we need TONS of "D" batteries. They live in their swings and bouncers...which take "D" batteries. Thanx and until next time...BYE
