Halloween is COMING!!! (Pic)

Ok for those of you that don't know, I LOVE HALLOWEEN. It's just around the corner so I have begun to prepare for this glorious holiday (See the countdown above). I have started my creations for this year...and randomly I will be posting updates to my new additions...there WILL be long gaps between updates because I am sort of limited on time since I sort of have a couple of kids to watch most of the day. I tend to do a lot of the work when the girls are napping or once they go to bed...of course it falls behind daily duties of cleaning, washing, and organizing stuff but none the less I MAKE time to work on my stuff. This year my goal is to add a scarecrow with a sculpted head made to look like a pumpkin head...about 6-10 Tombstones, life sized and life like...1-2 hand sculpted pumpkins...eerie lighting...creepy fake candles throughout graveyard hand made...Zombie Crossing sign...and much MUCH more.
-
Now I also need some help here...I have some ideas for tombstones...mainly famous horror movie characters

Michael Jackson - White Glove Draped on top (Died June 25th, 2009)

Frederick Charles "Freddy" Kruger - Claws coming out of ground 1938-1970

Jason Voorhees - Machete or hockey mask leaning on tombstone

Michael Myers

Dracula - Fang Marks on the tombstone

Frankenstein - Bolts on the side of the tombstone

Charles Lee "Chucky" Ray - "The Lakeshore Strangler"

John Kramer "The Jigsaw Killer" - Jigsaw puzzle pieces all over tombstone

Sweeney Todd - Straight razor on tombstone

Jack the Ripper - Guts laying in front of tombstone

but I need some more help...I'm am looking for some more famous names who have passed that would make for interesting tombstones...like maybe a really short tombstone for Gary Coleman...you know along those lines. If you have any ideas let me know in the comments section of this post...thanx in advance for your help.
-
Here are a few pictures of what I have done thus far...enjoy.
-
The Pumpkin head for the scarecrow...just now starting to paint it...it stands about 20" tall...

I got Jason's, from Friday the 13th, tombstone with its first coat of sealant paint on it...I hope to add a hockey mask hanging on the side of it...

Dracula's tombstone...went against the whole fang marks in it and will probably be adding a skull to it somewhere...

Here is Sweeney Todd's tombstone...He was known as the Demon Barber of Fleet Street...I will be adding a "real" straight razor to the front of the tombstone and possibly some other embellishments...

One of the Zombie crossing signs I had made...made out of Aluminum...I have two sets of this and will place it on a post near the street for passer byes to see.

Baby Proofing While on Vacation!!! (Pic)

I completely forgot that I would need to baby proof our cottage we were staying in...thankfully we had the van stocked with back-up/emergency supplies. All you need it some cardboard boxes, duct tape, and plastic bags...Done. A little ghetto but hey it works...duct tape is the most important thing on the list...here are a few snapshots of what I did really quick with what I had...

Finally WALKERS!!! (Vid)

Walk Walk Walk...It's Fun Fun Fun...
-
The first to walk without assistance was Phoenix while on vacation in Door County...The wife and I were sitting, just relaxing from the trip up there, as the girls played on the ground when all of a sudden Phoenix got onto all fours and began to try and free stand in the middle of the room...once she did she ran, yup ran, to the wall on the opposite side of the room, which was about 8-9 steps. Jade was standing holding onto the couch watching all of this happen so she let go of the couch and followed her laughing all the way along.
-

This was taken about two minutes after they started walking...sadly didn't catch the first time.

More Walking...

Nix laughing and walking...

The Farm!!! (Pic and Video)

While up in Door County we went to a place called "The Farm". At the farm you can feed baby goats, pigs, and lambs bottles or corn as they roam freely all around you. Great place for kids of all ages...here are some pictures from our visits...

He was a hungry long horn...

Rogue loved the goats...

She wasn't too sure about the whole feeding the baby goats a bottle...

Jade would touch the pig and pull her hand back fast and laugh...it was very cute...

One of the workers went and grabbed triplet goats...so here they are with the girls...it was funny because two had the same markings and one was different...it was fun...

No longer will it be called a VACATION!!! (Pic)

We have now gone on our "first" family vacation. Last Wednesday we packed up the van and headed off...we went to Door County Wisconsin. If you have never been to Door County it is a little piece of America that EVERYONE should visit. We went up there for a full week, Wednesday to Wednesday, but it seemed WAY shorter. We had an eventful first three days...2 Emergency Room visits. Thankfully neither were for the girls...one was for the wife and one was for me. Yippee. We learned our family vacations can only get better from here. The wife went to the ER the first night there...she had been battling a sinus infection for a little while and while taking the antibiotic it had irritated her esophagus to the point where she couldn't eat or drink without severe pain. She wasn't able to eat or drink for about 2-3 days and decided it wasn't getting better on its own so she needed something to help. She went to the ER the first night we were in Door County and was prescribed some vicodin to get through the pain. The doctor told her she had esophagitis and that it just needed time to heal. After a few doses of the meds she was doing MUCH better, really high, but better. And now for me...I went to the ER on Friday night. I had a rash that was spreading and getting worse and worse as the days went on. The doctor believes it to be a skin irritation from my laundry detergent. It was VERY humid and hot the first couple of days while up there so I was sweating a lot. So he prescribed me with a 5 day dose of steroids. 24 hours after the first dose I finally had my first burst of relief for the first time in about 4 days. Once we were finally drugged up we were both ready to start our vacation. Hopefully this isn't a sign of whats to come when we go on vacation...oh well here are a few pics from our time up in Door County.
